Better open space in Hallett Cove Heights

20 November 2016

The City of Marion has recently been consulting on their Open Space Policy and I have taken the opportunity to provide feedback on how I think the council could improve the amenity of the Hallett Cove Heights development, something that local residents raise with me frequently.

Open space is an important environmental and recreational asset that must be considered in existing and new developments and I think there is significant scope for the open space in this area to be improved by adding more play equipment, shade and BBQ areas.

The increasing number of residents in Hallett Cove Heights should not have to cross Lonsdale Road to access these facilities and I will continue to push for both the council and the developer to work together to ensure that appropriate open spaces are created in this community.
