Condition of Brighton Road

Since my election I have frequently been contacted by people regarding the deteriorating condition of Brighton Road.

Since my election I have frequently been contacted by people regarding the deteriorating condition of Brighton Road.

Brighton Road has a large and growing number of problems associated with increasing congestion. Traffic flow has now reached an average of 45,000 traffic movements per day and peak hour traffic movement, especially in the morning, is particularly inhibited.

One of my six community priorities is to fix Brighton Road and I am committed to doing my best to address these congestion issues as well as the poor road surface and, more recently, representing your interests to the government regarding the proposed bicycle lane.

Click here (PDF, 299 KB) to download the letter I recently wrote to the Hon. Stephen Mullighan MP, Minister for Transport, about Brighton Road.

Note, the Hon. Mr Mullighan has previously been made aware of the issues this letter outlines and this letter does not detail every issue with Brighton Road, but is part of the ongoing conversation I am having, and will continue to have, with the government.
