Park rangers are at the forefront of conservation in South Australia. They provide a vital interface between communities, volunteers, landowners and NRM officers, planning and coordinating conservation activity as well as being involved in practical, hands-on land and fauna management.

Despite their vital role, since 2002 (when Labor came to power) the number of rangers in South Australia has dropped from almost 300 to 93!

The Liberal Party’s promise to boost to park ranger numbers is an example of practical environmentalism that will deliver significant environmental dividends.
