Thank you!

Last week the poll in the seat of Bright was declared and I was elected to represent the seat in the South Australian Parliament.

Last week the poll in the seat of Bright was declared and I was elected to represent the seat in the South Australian Parliament.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing MP, Chloe Fox, for being a great opponent. Chloe and her office conducted themselves in a respectful and decent manner. We put forward our own ideas for this area and we discussed them on their merits. Too often politics is consumed by personal attacks and lacks the standards that members of the community would like. In Bright we had a good, clean contest and I'm grateful for it.

Being elected to represent my community is a great privilege and one I am humbled and honoured to be entrusted with. I will represent everyone in my electorate, no matter what their political persuasion and whether my time in office is long or short, I will work as hard as I can to make this community as great as it can be.

Although the Liberal Party has not formed government, I am still dedicated to fighting for the things that I outlined during the election campaign. This includes my desire to see express trains reinstated from Hallett Cove and a major environmental and open space upgrade for Hallett Cove's foreshore.

During the campaign I also outlined six community priorities which I said I would pursue if elected. These were not merely for election season, they were formulated during an 18-month candidacy, through conversations with hundreds of local people. My priorities are:

 • Build stronger, healthier communities where people have a sense of belonging and feel connected
 • Support small business to get off the ground, grow and create jobs
 • Fix Brighton Road
 • Create a public transport system that is modern, safe and reliable
 • Protect our precious coastal environment and the character of our communities
 • Provide our seniors with the support and respect they deserve.

These priorities give my role as your local MP a clear structure and purpose and I will report back regularly on how they are being progressed. In the coming weeks I'll be in touch about how you can work with me to drive these priorities and in the meantime, you can view a quick video summary on YouTube.

I have now taken over Chloe Fox's office at 7 Sturt Road, Brighton, and the office will be officially open for business from Monday 7 April. Office hours will be from 9.00 am - 5.00 pm. A Justice of the Peace service will be available, but please ring beforehand to ensure a JP is available when you visit.

The office number is: (08) 8296 9833, please do not hesitate to call if we can be of any assistance.
