So far this year we’ve had two seniors’ forums that have provided valuable information on topical issues and also given me an opportunity to catch up with hundreds of locals to hear more about the issues that matter to you.

Our upcoming forum in August is looking at the topic of ‘cyber safety’ and our expert guest is Sergeant Angela Clissold from the Electronic Crime Prevention Department of the South Australian Police.

Seniors, along with the rest of the population, face a number of online risks and threats and it is because of this, people can be deterred from using certain technology.

Sergeant Clissold’s presentation will include information about what methods you can put in place to help prevent cybercrime and how to detect scams and fraudulent activity. Information booklets will be distributed and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
